It worked fine until yesterday.
Also, I already looked for that Dell touch pad icon next to the clock on the bottom right hand corner but it wasn't there.
It was there just yesterday though. How can I enable the mouse touch pad on my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, so that I can tap to click?I'm not sure what that other guy is talking about; this has nothing to do with a virus.
You just need to adjust your track pad settings.
1) Go here to read the manual for your laptop: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy鈥?/a>
-It explains how to use the trackpad on page 62
2) To change your settings, go to: Start--%26gt; Control Panel鈫?Hardware and Sound鈫?Mouse.
3) Somewhere in those settings will be an option to enable tap clicking. How can I enable the mouse touch pad on my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, so that I can tap to click?First, I would run an online virus scanner:
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
You could be infected, and that is what is causing the problem.
Save the output file from the scan because anything it finds, you will have to delete manually.
Next, I would go here and choose my operating system and locate the touchpad driver %26amp; download it - then install it again:

Hope this helps.
