I have a Dell PC-which bypasses the geneneral Windows boot screen. How do I place a start up password?

Instead of showing all sorts of stuff, there's just the dell logo real big and windows starts up.

So, I don't know how to enter setup. Anyone know how I can prevent people from getting on my computer?I have a Dell PC-which bypasses the geneneral Windows boot screen. How do I place a start up password?XP?

You need to add a password for the user account, otherwise it will not prompt you to log in.

Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.

Click Local Users and Groups.

Click Users.

While you are there, disable the guest account.

Right-click the Guest account, choose Properties.

On the General tab, select Account is Disabled.

Or

Go to Start%26gt;Control Panel%26gt; User Accounts.

When you turn off the Guest Account, you are hiding the "Guest Account" icon on the Welcome screen so others cannot click Guest Account and start using the computer.

A Guest Account does not need a password.
