Ok, I am 36 weeks pregnant and I've been having a lot of menstrual cramp feelings in my lower pelvic area and lower back. Yesterday my doctor did a cervical exam and she said that I wasn't dilated but that my cervix was thinning. She felt that I wasn't in labor w/ the cramps but that it was just a form of exaggerated braxton hicks.
Then about 30 minutes after I left the doctor's office I went to the bathroom and found that I had a lot of bright red blood - not mucus at all - just bloody (at least a teaspoon full). I called the doctor back b/c I was thinking that it might have something to do w/ the exam but she said no, it sounds like bloody show and that my body is just getting ready for labor. However after that one bloody episode, the rest of the night and this morning the discharge has been more like either pinkish or brownish mucus discharge. So, now I'm confused. Is this bloody show or losing my mucus plug?Is this bloody show or am I just losing my mucus plug?
When i first read this i was thinking it was from the exam...but then you said no....a bloody show and losing your mucus plus are not the same thing BUT it usually means the same....now if she said it was a bloddy show, not to scare you but that usually means that labor aka ACTUAL chiildbirth is a couple days away!
