What kind of cable do i need to hook up my dell laptop 1505 to the tv?

I have a dell inspiron 1505 laptop. I've been trying to hook it up to the tv but its like running around circles. I have a VGA outlet but no S video. Is there such a thing as a VGA cable to RCA? I read somewhere there wasn't. But I've seen them for hdtv's but I don't have an hdtv. The problem is that vga is a digital signal and s-video is not. So, it's not just about changing the ends of the cable.
