Im worried i may have another panic attack?

hi, im 16 years old and a male, last wenesday i was in class and had a panic attack(you can read the full details in one of my other qusteions) anyway this was the first time i had one and it was not only extremly scary but it was just awful, my freinds thought i was joking at first when i started to yell, then they realized something was wrong and the teacher estorcted me to the office while i waited for a ambulance, the doctors said i had a mild episode(a panic attack) and that it could be a one time thing and may never happen again or it could be the start of axiety and panic attacks, they said if it happens again then medication would be nessary for axiety but for now its ok. but yes im so worried it may happen again(i know your not supposed to worry but it was the scariest thing ive gone through i had never been in a ambulance before) i was discharged a few hours later but it wasnt fun. and i know the littlest thing will set me off and i really dont wanna have to take medication.Im worried i may have another panic attack?
I would stay away from any medication until you try a few natural techniques that have helped many people who suffer from panic attacks. Medication that is usually prescribed to deal with panic attacks usually have serious side effects.

There are many things that can lead us to having panic attacks such as a poor diet, stress and lack of sleep. If any of these things is affecting your life you need to change it for the better. Eat healthy foods, cut out processed foods you maybe eating, get quality sleep each and every night.

Drink plenty of water and implement a few deep breathing exercises when you feel stressed or youranxiety level is high.
The worry that you will have one is a very bad thing, email me and I will send you a sound clip for relaxation so that you might be able to relax to prevent them.

It sonds like a typical panic attack. Fear, hyperventilation. I'm 50 years old and have had panic attacks since I was 13. The one thing I have learned through much therapy, is that no one dies from a panic attack.

But, the more you allow the panic to happen the more adrenalin flows through your body and makes the attack sometimes worse. I urge you to seek some counceling. They will give you the tools to deal with the panic if you ever have another attack.

I hope you never have to deal with it again. But don't dwell on it. Life can be stressful especially at your age. Try and relax....don't sweat the small stuff:)

Good Luck and God Bless
Hey everyone,

I have Panic disorder for more than 12 years already and my condition has been improving a lot! My medication started from 20mg per day till just 10mg on alternate days (or just 5mg per day) - I even thought of quitting medication. I also realized that there are many others who have Panic Attacks out there and I decided to reach out and help them.

So I have started a blog to give free panic attack tips and techniques that have helped me for all these years:

I do hope it will help you all =)

Hi,

I understand you want to avoid medication. BUT in any case, you should not avoid seeing a specialist - psychiatrist. Read my words, that's a MUST. Better be safe than sorry. You must go to the root of the problem. That being said, you may want to look into a program that worked great for people very close to me. But since you are 16, I recommend you ask for your parents' permission first. That's a must too. By the way, the more you talk about your problem, the better. Speaking is part of the therapy.

Cheers.
