had episode of bloody show this am with lots of cramping. went to doctor's office and only 1 cm dilated (same as of last week). Confirmed that i had some bloody show. Having lots of discharge with brown streaks when wipe. Doctor wants me to rest and time contractions. I am feeling more of lower abdominal cramping then contractions. Induction scheduled for next tuesday if i don't go into labor. tell me your experience where you admitted to the hospital after having bloody show or were you sent home like me. If so how how after your bloody did you go into full labor. (also i had an ultrasound baby about 7lbs 6 oz had a hard time measuring head circumference since baby is well engaged). Also when a person turns 40 weeks don't they normally see her every two days. Also did you have an NST doneCame from doctor's office read on?
I would say that labor is really close. You may not even make it to your inducement, but don't quote me on that :) The cramping could be contractions also, they feel really weird in the beginning. When I had bloody show I went in that night but I had been having contractions for a few days as well. If I were you I'd get lots of rest take a relaxing bath and sleep as much as you can I'm sure you're pretty uncomfortable by now. But sounds like baby's getting ready to come meet you! Congratulations!Came from doctor's office read on?
Bloody show is not an indication that labor is imminent. It could still be days away. It's an indication that things are moving along, but it doesn't mean it will be soon.
They don't normally see you every two days just because you turned 40 weeks. Remember, the 40-week point is still just an estimate. They don't know exactly when everything happened, so they don't know the exact "due date." It's perfectly ok to go over 40 weeks. In my area, they don't normally do NST until 41 weeks or so.Came from doctor's office read on?
I have 4 children and this happened to me twice. i was sent home but went back later that night because the contractions became more frequent and stronger. The second time it happened, it lasted for 2 days before progressing. The lower abdominal pains are still contractions and the discharge is the mucus plug. these are all typical signs of going into labor. Please keep in mind that labor can unfortunately last days. If your water breaks (seems like you peed yourself) get into the hospital right away. Or if your timed contractions are coming frequent, with or without your water breaking. Hope my experience will be helpful to you. Good luck and Congratulations!
